Abstract: The inhibitory effect of different reperfusion periods 45 min following hepatic ischemia on the expressionrandomly divided into four groups: normal control group (CO group), sham-operated group (SO group), ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury group (IR group) and salvia miltiorrhiza pretreatment group (SM group). It is suggested that the digestive tract congestion injury caused by liver ischemia can upregulate theexpression of CCK and VIP in the jejunum following reperfusion.

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2010, Volume 4, Issue 2,   Pages 172-183 doi: 10.1007/s11705-009-0236-z

Abstract: If substantial amounts of CO, which according to actual scenarios may in the future be captured from industrial processes and power generation, shall be utilized effectively, scalable energy efficient technologies will be required. Thus, a survey was performed to assess a large variety of applications utilizing CO chemically (e.g., production of synthesis-gas, methanol synthesis), biologically (e.g., CO as fertilizer in green houses, production of algae), or physically (enhancement of fossil fuel recovery, use as refrigerant). For each of the processes, material and energy balances were set up. Starting with pure CO at standard conditions, expenditure for transport and further process specific treatment were included. Based on these calculations, the avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions by applying the discussed technologies was evaluated. Based on the currently available technologies, applications for enhanced fossil fuel recovery turn out to be most attractive regarding the potential of utilizing large quantities of CO (total capacity>1000 Gt CO) and producing significant amounts of marketable products on one hand and having good energy and material balances on the other hand (

Achieving High Strength and Tensile Ductility in Pure Nickel by Cryorolling with Subsequent Low-Temperature

Zhide Li,Hao Gu,Kaiguang Luo,Charlie Kong,Hailiang Yu,

Engineering doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2023.01.019

Abstract: ty. In this study, cryorolling under different strains followed by low-temperature short-time annealing was used to fabricate pure nickel sheets combining high strength with good ductility. The results show that, for different cryorolling strains, the uniform elongation was greatly increased without sacrificing the strength after annealing. A yield strength of 607 MPa and a uniform elongation of 11.7% were obtained after annealing at a small cryorolling strain (ε = 0.22), while annealing at a large cryorolling strain (ε = 1.6) resulted in a yield strength of 990 MPa and a uniform elongation of 6.4%. X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) were used to characterize the microstructure of the specimens and showed that the high strength could be attributed to strain hardening during cryorolling, with an additional contribution from grain refinement and the formation of dislocation walls. The high ductility could be attributed to annealing twins and micro-shear bands during stretching, which improved the strain hardening capacity. The results show that the synergistic effect of strength and ductility can be regulated through low-temperature short-time annealing with different cryorolling strains, which provides a new reference for the design of future thermo-mechanical processes.

Frontiers of Medicine 2008, Volume 2, Issue 1,   Pages 95-99 doi: 10.1007/s11684-008-0017-y

Abstract: Schistosomiasis japonica, a zoonosis caused by , is endemic to the Philippines and China. Several vaccine candidates have been identified and tested in different animal models, but it is still unclear which will be optimal for testing in the field. Therefore, new antigens and strategies are necessary for vaccine development against schistosomiasis japonica. The Sj14-3-3 gene was amplified and subcloned into the expression vector pPICZ?-B and transformed into X-33 by electroporation. Three transformants were induced with methanol. The cultural supernatant was collected and tested by SDS-PAGE and Western blotting. The protein of rSj14-3-3 was prepared and purified and BALB/c mice were immunized which was followed by a challenging infection. The immuno-protection was then evaluated. The Sj14-3-3 gene was expressed and secreted into the medium and its molecular weight was about 35000 as determined by SDS-PAGE. Western blotting showed that the protein had a high specificity against mouse-anti-Sj14-3-3 monoclonal antibody and rSj14-3-3 had a promising immune reactivity. The results of the immuno-protective experiments revealed that the worm reduction was 26.0%, 32.2%, and 36.8%, respectively. The number of eggs in liver tissue was reduced by 36.8%, 43.2%, and 46.1%, respectively. The recombinant Sj14-3-3 of eukaryotic expression in was successfully harvested. The molecular vaccine of Sj14-3-3 could partially induce resistance to the infection with in BALB/c mice. The recombinant protein Sj14-3-3 has promising immunological potentials for further approach to the diagnosis and development of molecular vaccine.
